An Update...

Hello, long time no speak. I am currently writing to you from a tour bus in The Netherlands, which in itself kind of explains why there’s been radio silence here for the last few months.

Yesterday was my graduation day, not that I could attend, but it made me reflect slightly on the last couple of months. I handed in my last piece of uni work in mid May and since then I have been lucky enough to be working in various roles in the music industry. It’s been a great summer full of different experiences, however it did mean that the blog had to take a slight backseat.

I had (still have) plans for where I want to go next with this project, though trying to execute these plans to the standard I wanted to while in between festivals and on the road is not as easy as I thought it could’ve been. I decided while touring that I wanted to explore the places I was in and spend time with the people I am sharing a bus with (which has lead to some great lifelong memories) instead of sitting down to write like I used to do.

I started this blog in January 2020, just before the pandemic, which meant that I had A LOT of time to write down my thoughts on music for you during that time, but that also meant I put unnecessary standards on how much I should write and post every week - something which I couldn’t keep up once life started to get back to ‘normal’ again. So slowly the posts started to get less and less frequent until they eventually stopped. This isn’t because I’ve lost interest at all, I am still listening to a lot of new music and enjoying new albums, discovering bands, but I’ve just not had time to write my thoughts down for you.

I wanted to write this post to let you know that I am still here, I am enjoying what I’m doing and that I will be back at some point - though I’m not sure when that will be. Posting from here on out will probably be sporadic at best, but who knows, maybe I’ll start writing about touring life for you?

Anyway, I thought I’d leave you with some songs to have a listen to - ones that have been on repeat for me recently.

Swim Deep - She Changes The Weather

Angus & Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane

Paramore - This Is Why

Man-Made Sunshine - Life’s Gonna Kill You (If You Let It)
