The 1975 - Me & You Together Song
The 1975 are back with their first song of the new decade, and I am obsessed.
This song hooks you instantly with the catchy guitar riffs and the nostalgic feeling it creates, taking most of us back to a time we think about through rose tinted glasses. It’s a song about falling in love and the simplicities of it instead of maybe the reality of it. It reminds me of the first few weeks of that and the whirlwind of thoughts that comes with it, and I think that’s what frontman Matty Healy is trying to achieve. The mentions of falling in love through stages and how the experiences of falling in love can change throughout your life. The lyrics are simple yet self-aware and I think the overall feel of this song is like It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You) from the bands previous album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.
The music is very catchy as I mentioned before, and is similar to early The 1975 music which many fans are pleased about, though I love the more recent music that the band have produced. Overall this song is fun and upbeat, perhaps what we need at this time. It will be in your head for days after listening to it, but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it.
